Advanced Sea Survival

This qualification provides the candidate with training and certification for various ocean passages, both power and sail. This is endorsed by Yachting New Zealand/World Body Of Sailing. The training is rated for Category 1 Offshore passages power and sail.

Aim: To gain detailed knowledge and practical competence in sea survival techniques and equipment. The course incorporates both theory, equipment knowledge awareness as well as a comprehensive wet drill for life jackets and life rafts.

Duration: 1-2 days depending on candidate numbers attending.

Qualification: Advanced Sea Survival Certification (Recognised by Yachting New Zealand, World Body Of Sailing. and Maritime New Zealand.)

  • Storm Sails
  • Damage Control and Repair
  • Heavy Weather and Preparation
  • Man Over Board
  • Giving assistance
  • Hypothermia
  • Search and Rescue
  • Weather forecasting
  • Fire Precautions, Pyrotechnics
  • Life Jackets and Life Rafts

First Aid training can be supplied by a Marine Medical Paramedic if requested for all preparation we provide.
